Over the past few decades, psychiatry as a medical discipline has been transformed by expansive advances in the neurosciences. My training was focused on biological psychiatry to best understand brain function and to assess issues involving thought, feeling, and behavior.
I had the privilege of training with neuroimaging pioneers like Richard M. Pico at Mount Sinai and E. Roy John at NYU, learning to see the brain as a biological organ we could understand and treat with precision.
